My drawings are stills of daily realities, particularly the domestic space. The domestic space however, transforms with every stroke. Drawing in constellations of surrealism, labor intensive, almost obsessive line-work and childlike perceptions of perspective and dimensions.
Unlike other studio practices, the liberty of being able to draw from just about anywhere has served me in times of great need. Paralyses, confinement, depression, heartache all made their way out of me through exhaustive drawing exercises.
Though not formally trained in drawing, I understand now how multi-dimensional the act of mark-making, registering and purging really is.
